Luma AI adds free audio generation to Dream Machine
Luma AI just rolled out a new Video to Audio feature in Dream Machine, letting you add sound to your generated clips. You can create audio with a single click or steer it with text prompts. It's currently in beta and free for all users.

Silent AI videos might finally become a thing of the past. One of the quickest ways an AI clip breaks immersion is complete, dead silence.
Sound effects in a single click
Luma AI just added video-to-audio generation directly inside its Dream Machine platform. Adding sound to your creations is now baked into the workflow: just hit the new "Audio" button after rendering a video.
Users can either let the model generate matching audio with a single click, or type in text prompts to guide the sound effects in a specific direction. The audio feature is currently live in beta and completely free for all users.
Why it matters
For creators and editors, hunting down royalty-free sound effects and lining them up on a timeline is usually where projects hit a bottleneck. Bringing native audio generation inside the video canvas cuts out an entire multi-tool workflow.
Across the AI video space, the race is rapidly moving from purely generating pixels to delivering complete, watchable clips right out of the box. Offering it for free during beta is a smart land grab to capture casual creators and gather real-world data, though we'll have to see how well the audio holds up in precise synchronization with complex motion.
