Runway's new model boosts any video up to 120 fps
Runway just launched Enhance Frame Rate, a new model that converts any footage into 25 to 120 fps — even videos not generated on Runway. It runs up to 7x faster and 3x cheaper than competing interpolation models, supporting up to 4K resolution and 5-minute clips. It basically eliminates a tedious manual conform step for VFX and broadcast delivery pipelines.

If you have ever tried dropping an AI-generated clip straight into a broadcast timeline, you know the pain of mismatched frame rates and conforming errors.
Today, Runway launched Enhance Frame Rate, a new interpolation model designed to convert any footage into standard delivery specs.
Faster, cheaper frame rate conversion
The tool is not limited to Runway-generated video; it works on external footage too. Users can convert clips to 25, 30, 48, 60, or 120 fps, complete with broadcast-grade support like NTSC’s 59.94 standard and the UK's mandated 25 fps rule.
It handles clips up to 4K resolution and five minutes in length while preserving source resolution. Runway claims the model runs up to seven times faster and three times cheaper than competing interpolation tools. Pricing is straightforward: one credit per two seconds of video, regardless of resolution or target frame rate.
Why it matters
AI video models usually prioritize cool visuals over post-production realities. By tackling frame rates alongside its recent SDR-to-HDR Ruby model, Runway is removing the exact friction points that keep generative video out of professional edit suites.
We think this is a very smart pivot. Instead of just competing on generation quality, Runway is making sure creators can actually deliver their files to streaming platforms, broadcast TV, or game engines without juggling third-party conversion software.
