Copying AI search answers into a slide deck or spreadsheet might soon become an unnecessary extra step.

Perplexity announced that users can now build and edit assets like slides, sheets, and docs across all search modes. The feature is currently available on the web for Perplexity Pro and Max subscribers.

From search to ready-to-use docs

Until now, Perplexity primarily handed you direct answers with sources, leaving you to copy and format the output into your actual working files.

With this update, the platform lets paid users turn search findings straight into interactive documents, spreadsheets, or presentations, editing them directly inside the web interface without leaving the search flow.

Why it matters

Perplexity is clearly pushing beyond being just an AI answer engine and moving into everyday workplace productivity.

For researchers and professionals, getting synthesized data directly into structured sheets or presentations can cut out tedious busywork, making a Pro or Max subscription noticeably more useful if the editor holds up.

We think this puts Perplexity in closer competition with workspace AI tools and browser-based office suites. The lingering challenge is feature depth: built-in lightweight editors often struggle against dedicated tools, so it remains to be seen whether users will actually finish work here or still end up exporting to their usual software.
