Gmail introduces AI Inbox to kill Inbox Zero
Gmail just launched AI Inbox in beta for Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US. The feature cuts through cluttered inboxes with smart prioritization and serves up personalized daily briefings so you don't have to chase Inbox Zero yourself. For now, it's exclusive to Google's top-tier US subscribers.

For years, productivity nerds treated Inbox Zero like a daily badge of honor. Google is now telling us to abandon the obsession entirely.
Gmail just rolled out a new AI Inbox feature in beta, boldly declaring that clearing every single email by hand is officially a thing of the past.
Your daily personal briefing
Instead of making you sort through clutter, AI Inbox uses smart prioritization to push important threads to the top while pushing noise out of the way.
It also generates daily personalized briefings, summarizing what actually demands your attention today so you do not have to read through dozens of newsletters and updates.
For now, the rollout is tightly gated. It is only available as a beta for Google AI Ultra subscribers located in the US, with broader availability still unannounced.
Why it matters
Email clients are shifting from giving you tools to organize your mess to simply cleaning it up for you. For power users buried in unread messages, getting an executive-style morning briefing is genuinely useful, provided you are already paying for Google's top-tier AI plan.
We think dropping the Inbox Zero dogma is a smart reality check, because nobody has time to triage hundreds of incoming emails manually anymore. But letting an algorithm decide what you never see comes with obvious risks. If the AI misses an urgent contract or flight update in its summary, the fallout lands squarely on you, which explains why Google is keeping this in a walled garden for now.
