Published Reach 41

Anthropic just rolled out Microsoft 365 connectors to every Claude plan, including free users. You can now link Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint directly to conversations to pull in emails and documents without manual uploads. Why it matters: bringing workplace context directly inside Claude eliminates the friction of constant app switching.

Jumping between endless browser tabs to copy and paste emails into an AI chat is finally coming to an end for Claude users.

Anthropic just rolled out Microsoft 365 connectors, bringing Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint integration straight into Claude. The biggest surprise is the rollout strategy: it is immediately available across every single tier, from free users to paid subscribers.

Workplace files meet the chat box

Users can enable the integration through Claude's custom connectors settings. Once linked, Claude can tap directly into your emails, documents, and stored files during conversations.

That means you no longer need to download attachments, export PDFs, or paste lengthy email chains to give Claude context. The assistant simply pulls what it needs from your Microsoft workspace as you work.

Why it matters

If you live inside the Microsoft ecosystem, this instantly removes friction from your daily workflow. Drafting replies, summarizing shared SharePoint files, or searching old email threads no longer requires a clunky manual handoff.

We think the real story here is the pricing decision. Most enterprise software players lock external system connectors behind expensive enterprise tiers. By giving this to everyone, including free accounts, Anthropic is clearly trying to make Claude the default thinking layer for knowledge workers.

It is also a bold shot at Microsoft's own Copilot backyard. Copilot's entire value proposition hinges on deep Office integration. Now that Claude can access the same files, users might question why they need an extra Microsoft subscription. The main hurdle will be enterprise security, as IT admins may hesitate before letting employees link sensitive company Outlook and SharePoint accounts to third-party chatbots.
