Claude's Artifacts feature is now free for everyone

Published Reach 44

Anthropic just made Artifacts generally available to all Claude.ai users, rolling out the interactive workspace to Free, Pro, and Team tiers across web and mobile apps. The feature lets you instantly render, iterate, and remix code, SVG graphics, flowcharts, and live prototypes in a dedicated side window without leaving the chat.

If you have ever tried building a quick web prototype or rendering a diagram inside a chatbot, you know how painful the traditional conversation stream is. Your code vanishes up into the chat history, and tweaking it feels like digging through old receipts.

Anthropic has officially rolled out its Artifacts feature to general availability across all Claude.ai users. That includes Free, Pro, and Team accounts, plus the official iOS and Android apps.

Since kicking off as a preview back in June, users have already generated tens of millions of Artifacts. Now, it is becoming a standard workspace for everyone.

A dedicated canvas beside your chat

Basically, Artifacts gives Claude a dedicated side-by-side window. When you ask the model for substantial standalone content, it no longer dumps a wall of text directly into the chat.

Instead, code snippets, SVG graphics, flowcharts, websites, and interactive dashboards now render live in a dedicated panel on the right. You keep chatting on the left, and the visual output updates on the right in real time.

Bringing this to iOS and Android also solves a huge mobility bottleneck. While deep coding remains a desktop affair, being able to review interactive prototypes or dashboards on your phone makes mobile AI workflows genuinely useful.

Remixing what the community builds

Anthropic also added some much-needed collaboration layers to this release.

Free and Pro users can now publish their Artifacts and share them globally. Even better, anyone viewing a published Artifact can remix it, copying the underlying logic into their own workspace to iterate on it. It works a lot like forking a project on GitHub.

For enterprise customers, Team plan users can now create Artifacts and save them directly inside Projects. That keeps internal sales pipelines, marketing performance dashboards, and technical architecture diagrams secure behind company walls.

Why it matters

We think this general release marks a critical shift in how we interact with LLMs. Moving away from the linear chat box turns Claude from a smart conversationalist into an actual creative canvas. For users, being able to spin up an interactive prototype or SVG graphic without touching a local code environment makes Claude immediately practical, even on the free tier.

Anthropic made a very clever product bet here. While frontier model benchmarks are increasingly neck-and-neck, user experience is where battles are won. OpenAI and Google kept users trapped in vertical chat feeds, while Anthropic realized people need to see and tweak what the AI actually built.

The remix capability also creates a flywheel. Letting users share and adapt community creations builds organic network effects that simple chat history never could. While sandbox limitations mean you will not be building full enterprise apps inside that side panel just yet, for fast prototyping and data visualization, Claude just widened its lead.
