Wix promises full websites built from a single prompt
Wix just revealed an upcoming AI website builder that creates complete, fully functional sites from a single prompt. Instead of using static templates, it pairs ChatGPT for copy with proprietary design algorithms to generate custom layouts, with a companion business AI assistant also in the works.

If you have ever tried building a website on a modern no-code platform, you know the drill: pick a sleek template, paste in your own text, and watch the entire layout fall apart in minutes.
Wix wants to bypass that painful middle ground entirely. In an update detailing the company's past and present work with automation, Wix CEO Avishai Abrahami announced an upcoming AI Website Builder that promises to generate a complete, production-ready website from a single prompt.
While Wix has dabbled in site-building algorithms since launching its Artificial Design Intelligence (ADI) back in 2016, this upcoming release is built around modern generative models.
Prompts instead of template hunting
The premise is straightforward: you tell the tool what kind of site you want and what your business does.
Behind the scenes, ChatGPT writes the copy across the entire site, while Wix’s design engine generates the structure, color scheme, and matching imagery.
Abrahami stressed that the result is not just a populated pre-made template. Instead, algorithms build a custom layout tailored specifically to the content. If you want edits, you can prompt the builder again to refine sections.
Crucially, the generator hooks directly into Wix's existing business applications from day one, including eCommerce stores, booking systems, restaurant menus, and event ticketing.
For users with existing sites, Wix is also launching an AI Page and Section Creator to spin up new pages on demand, alongside an Object Eraser for image touch-ups and an AI Assistant designed to analyze traffic trends and suggest business strategies.
These tools follow a batch of AI features already live in the platform, including an AI Text Creator for page copy, prompt-based image generation, background removal, automated video trailers, and store product description generators.
Why it matters
For small business owners, freelancers, and solo creators, website creation is shifting from visual layout editing to clear prompt engineering. Instead of spending hours wrestling with column padding, you can produce a functional commercial site with booking or checkout capabilities in minutes. If you are launching a quick project or testing demand, it will be well worth testing the moment it drops.
We think Wix's strategy here is fundamentally smart. Countless standalone generative AI startups can generate pretty landing pages, but almost none of them have deep payment processing, booking pipelines, or inventory tracking already wired under the hood. Wix is using frontier AI models for text and generation, but leveraging its own decade-old plumbing for the hard operational stuff.
The real challenge will be aesthetic homogeny. When creating a full online store takes sixty seconds, the web risks drowning in cookie-cutter designs and synthetic marketing copy. AI can assemble the skeleton and bolt on a cash register, but establishing real brand personality will still fall squarely on human taste.
