Starbucks brings drink ordering to ChatGPT

Starbucks just rolled out a beta app inside ChatGPT to help customers discover and customize drinks based on their cravings. Users can call up "@Starbucks" in chat to tailor orders and pick a store, though checkout still redirects to Starbucks' own channels to protect its loyalty program. Why it matters: It targets younger shoppers by meeting them at the moment of inspiration instead of pushing a static menu.

Starbucks tests an AI assistant to help baristas make drinks faster

Starbucks is piloting an AI virtual assistant called Green Dot Assist across 35 stores to support baristas in real time. Powered by Microsoft Azure's OpenAI platform, the in-store iPad tool answers recipe questions, troubleshoots espresso machines, and helps managers cover shifts. A wider rollout across the U.S. and Canada is planned for fiscal 2026.
