OpenAI just launched an official ChatGPT add-in for Microsoft PowerPoint in beta across all user tiers. You can now build, rewrite, and generate slides directly from a sidebar without losing editable formatting, or turn existing docs into presentation-ready content. Why it matters: It cuts out the awkward copy-pasting from web chats, though complex templates aren't fully supported yet.
Microsoft just rolled out a suite of upgrades to Copilot at Ignite, letting users fine-tune its tone and formatting to fit their personal style in Word and PowerPoint. In Teams, the bot can now take live notes and quote specific speakers without recording full meeting transcripts. Why it matters: Copilot is moving from a generic query engine to a flexible coworker tailored to individual work habits.
Microsoft is preparing to show off how OpenAI's language tech and its Prometheus model will reshape Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Following its recent Bing overhaul, the company is tentatively planning a March demo to counter Google and transform daily productivity. While full rollout details are still under wraps, Edge users can already preview some compose tools in Office web apps via the Bing sidebar.
