Suno gives paid users audio trimming tools
Suno just rolled out a song cropping feature on its web platform for Pro and Premier subscribers. Users can now trim the start and end of generated tracks using waveform selectors, saving the trimmed portion as a new song, alongside the ability to edit displayed lyrics. It is a handy quality-of-life update that saves creators from regenerating entire tracks just to fix an intro or outro.
AI music generator Suno just rolled out a song cropping tool on its web platform, letting Pro and Premier subscribers trim the start and end of their generated tracks without leaving the browser.
Users can now find any song in their Library or Create tab, open the Edit menu, and launch the Crop Song tool. Using pink waveform selectors, you can pick the exact slice of audio you want to keep. Once saved, Suno generates a brand new track with the trimmed audio and adds it back to your library. Alongside the audio trimmer, Suno also added the ability to edit displayed lyrics right inside the song details menu.
Trimming down the tracks
Until now, if an AI generation nailed the chorus but dragged out the intro or completely ruined the outro, creators had to export the file into a dedicated digital audio workstation to fix it. This new workflow keeps everything inside Suno's interface, cutting out third-party editing for basic top-and-tail adjustments.
Why it matters
AI music creation is slowly moving away from pure prompt lottery toward an actual production workflow. We think adding basic post-generation editing is a smart move to make tracks immediately usable for content creators, even if it is currently limited to just snipping the edges. Locking it behind the Pro and Premier tiers also gives casual users another practical reason to pull out their credit cards.
