Stability AI unveils Stable Audio 2.5 for enterprise sound production
Stability AI just launched Stable Audio 2.5, an enterprise-grade audio generation model capable of pumping out 3-minute tracks in under two seconds. Built on fully licensed datasets for commercial safety, it introduces audio inpainting and dynamic song structures to help brands craft customized sound identities at scale.

If you close your eyes, you can probably still hear the Netflix "ta-dum" or the Intel chime. Sound makes brands unforgettable, yet virtually no enterprise has had the bandwidth or budget to compose custom audio for every retail store, app notification, and social ad.
Stability AI is looking to change that math. The company just released Stable Audio 2.5, pitching it as the first generative audio model specifically engineered for enterprise-scale sound production.
Three-minute tracks in under two seconds
Previous AI audio generators felt more like unpredictable synthesizers than production tools. They took too long to render and often produced rambling, aimless noise.
Stable Audio 2.5 tackles both bottlenecks. Thanks to a proprietary post-training method called Adversarial Relativistic-Contrastive (ARC), the model can generate a full three-minute track in under two seconds on a GPU.
Musical coherence has also leveled up significantly. The model now maps out distinct compositional sections—including intros, developments, and outros. It also exhibits far tighter adherence to specific moods and technical genre tags, whether you ask for an uplifting tempo or lush synthesizers.
For creators who want surgical control, the model introduces audio inpainting. Much like inpainting an image in Stable Diffusion, you can upload a piece of audio, pick a timestamp, and let the model compose the rest based on that context. Stability AI noted that all uploads run through automated content recognition filters to avoid copyright infringement.
Teaming up with ad giants for sonic branding
Stability AI is leaning heavily into corporate marketing budgets. Citing research from Ipsos, the company noted that custom sound makes brands eight times more memorable, yet only 6% of brand creative currently leverages a distinct sound identity.
To bridge that gap, Stability AI partnered with sonic branding agency amp, part of WPP's Landor Group. Stable Audio 2.5 is rolling out directly to WPP's global enterprise roster via the WPP Open platform.
Enterprises can also fine-tune Stable Audio on their own audio libraries to ensure all output aligns with their sonic guidelines. The model is available now via StableAudio.com, the official API, partner platforms like fal, Replicate, and ComfyUI, as well as on-premise enterprise licensing.
Why it matters
Generative audio is finally moving from parlor tricks to real enterprise pipelines. For commercial video editors, game studios, and agency creatives, generating coherent three-minute backing tracks in sub-two-second latency destroys the traditional friction of music licensing and drafting scratch tracks. Audio inpainting is the real killer feature here, transforming the model from a random slot machine into a genuine collaborative sequencer.
Strategically, Stability AI is playing it smart by targeting sonic branding. While image and text generation are brutally commoditized, corporate audio identity remains an underserved, high-margin niche. By partnering with WPP instead of merely hawking self-serve subscriptions to hobbyists, Stability AI secures direct distribution to deep-pocketed brands.
The lingering question is whether brand sound identity can actually be automated without creating a sea of bland, generic jingles. Furthermore, while Stability AI insists its foundational training data is fully licensed and commercially safe, relying on automated filters to police enterprise user uploads will always carry legal risks in the trigger-happy music industry.
