Runway's new Story Panels turn single images into full films
Runway just rolled out Story Panels, a featured workflow designed to generate entire films, ads, or content from a single image. It lets creators build a catalog of shots with consistent characters, locations, and styles in just a few steps. It basically tackles AI video's biggest headache: keeping scenes from looking disconnected.

Anyone who has tried making an AI video knows the pain: your first shot looks incredible, but the moment you generate the next one, your main character looks like a completely different person.
Runway launched a new featured workflow called Story Panels, designed to take creators from a single source image to an entire film, advertisement, or coherent video project.
From one image to a unified shot catalog
According to Runway, the workflow lets users build a full catalogue of shots in just a few steps while preserving character appearance, locations, and visual style.
Instead of endlessly rerolling prompts and praying for visual continuity, creators can now anchor their scenes around a single visual baseline. Runway also paired the announcement with a dedicated tutorial for users wanting to implement the workflow.
Why it matters
Generative video has solved the single-clip spectacle, but assembling those clips into a coherent narrative remains a logistical nightmare. For indie filmmakers and ad agencies, maintaining continuity across scenes has been the single biggest bottleneck preventing AI from being used in full productions.
We think Runway's focus on workflow over raw model specs is a smart move. While competitors race on resolution and length, building tools that solve character and style drift is what actually moves AI video from a novelty into practical production pipelines.
