Pika drops v2.2 with 1080p and Pikaframes
Pika just launched Pika 2.2, bringing 10-second video generation and crisp 1080p resolution to its platform. The update introduces Pikaframes, giving users control over key frame transitions anywhere between 1 and 10 seconds for more complex visual storytelling.

Pika just rolled out version 2.2, bringing a set of practical upgrades to its video generation platform.
The update bumps output resolution to 1080p and extends generation length up to 10 seconds. Alongside the spec bump, the platform introduced Pikaframes, a dedicated keyframe transition tool available directly on Pika.art.
Keyframes across 10 seconds
Pikaframes allows creators to set keyframe transitions anywhere between 1 and 10 seconds on the timeline.
Instead of letting the model freely drift from prompt to render, users can define distinct transformation points to guide how one state morphs into the next throughout the clip.
Why it matters
AI video is gradually moving away from prompt-and-pray roulette toward controllable production tools. Reaching 1080p and 10 seconds hits the bare minimum required for creators who need usable footage rather than fleeting visual novelties.
We think adding explicit keyframe controls is a genuinely smart move. Competing purely on visual realism only gets you so far if directors cannot control pacing or transitions. By offering granular anchors across the timeline, Pika gives editors a practical way to manage scene dynamics, though it remains to be seen how well these transitions hold up under complex camera movements.
