Anyone who has tried making an AI video knows the frustration of character drift: one cut, and your protagonist has a different face, outfit, and hairstyle.

Pika just rolled out its Pika 2.0 model to tackle that exact problem. Along with sharper visuals and tighter prompt adherence, the headline feature is a new tool called Scene Ingredients.

Bringing your own cast and props

Scene Ingredients allows creators to upload reference images before generating a video.

You can feed the model photos of yourself, other people, specific locations, or individual objects. Pika 2.0 then uses those visual anchors to maintain consistency across scenes, giving you far more control over who and what appears on screen.

The updated model is live now directly on Pika’s web platform.

Why it matters

Consistent characters and props have long been the missing puzzle piece preventing AI video from moving beyond 5-second novelty clips into serious storytelling.

Prompting alone rarely cuts it when you need the exact same actor across multiple camera angles. By letting users anchor generations with real images, Pika is taking a practical shortcut to solve visual continuity without forcing creators to fight the prompt box.

If you are a filmmaker, marketer, or creator trying to storyboard or build coherent short-form narratives, this is worth testing right away. It signals that the AI video race is finally shifting from raw visual fidelity to real-world controllability.
