NotebookLM's video overviews roll out to everyone
Google just opened up Video Overviews in NotebookLM to all users. The team revealed that people have already generated over 1.1 million video overviews, making the automated video summary feature a core part of the research tool.
Google's beloved research assistant just unlocked its next visual trick for the crowd.
Josh Woodward announced on X that NotebookLM's Video Overviews feature is now officially available to everyone.
From beta hit to everyone's notebook
According to the team, users had already generated over 1.1 million video overviews before this full public rollout.
Following the viral success of its AI podcast-style Audio Overviews, the platform now lets any user turn their uploaded notes, research papers, and documents into bite-sized visual summaries.
Why it matters
NotebookLM remains one of Google's sharpest AI hits because it solves a very real pain point: turning dense, boring material into something you actually want to consume.
Adding video overviews closes the loop on multimodal synthesis. If you rely on NotebookLM for studying or deep-dive research, having video summaries directly alongside audio podcasts gives you another effortless way to digest long texts. It also puts pressure on traditional note-taking and knowledge-base tools to move well beyond simple text chat.
