Meta is spending hundreds of billions of dollars on artificial intelligence, and investors are tapping their watches wondering when the cash will start flowing back. Mark Zuckerberg’s quickest path to real revenue? Sticking AI directly into the ad machine.

Meta has officially integrated Manus AI into its Ads Manager platform, making the tool accessible to all advertisers right inside the Tools menu. To ensure people actually notice, the company is already pushing in-stream pop-ups to alert marketers.

Straight from acquisition to ad dashboard

Meta only acquired Manus AI last month, making this an unusually fast product rollout. App researcher Ahmed Ghanem first spotted the new in-stream pop-up notifying advertisers that they can now deploy Manus directly in their campaign workflow.

Manus specializes in building autonomous AI agents capable of executing complex marketing legwork. Instead of forcing media buyers to manually crunch numbers, the agents can handle audience research, build detailed performance reports, and streamline day-to-day campaign prep.

While every advertiser can already access Manus via the Tools listing in Ads Manager, Meta is aggressively promoting it with banners to drive immediate adoption.

The hunt for actual ROI

Meta continues to pour massive capital into developing foundation models, synthetic media, and generative tools. But generating whimsical AI images and quirky videos doesn't pay the bills, and Wall Street has grown increasingly nervous about the sheer scale of Meta's infrastructure spending.

Advertising remains Meta's economic engine. By integrating intelligent agents into Ads Manager, Meta hopes advertisers will find higher-performing audiences, cut down on campaign overhead, and ultimately spend more ad dollars.

Putting Manus to work right away gives Meta something tangible to show nervous shareholders: real business utility tied directly to revenue.

Why it matters

We think this is one of Meta’s most sensible AI moves yet. While competitors chase viral chatbot moments, Meta is applying AI agents to the single interface where its revenue is actually generated.

For media buyers and marketing teams, this is worth testing immediately. Building audience personas and weekly reporting are tedious tasks that burn expensive agency hours. If Manus can automate even a fraction of that routine analysis inside Ads Manager without requiring third-party tools, it offers instant operational value.

However, the real test will be accuracy. AI agents are notorious for sounding confident while delivering generic or hallucinated insights. If Manus suggests flawed targeting buckets or misreads attribution data, it could end up wasting real ad budgets.

For the broader tech space, this signals that the ad platform race is shifting. It is no longer just about whose targeting algorithm converts better; it is about who builds the best autonomous coworker inside the ad dashboard.
