Google launches $249.99/mo AI Ultra plan with Veo 3 and Flow
Google just introduced Google AI Ultra, a premium $249.99/month subscription offering its highest usage limits and top-tier models. Subscribers get early access to Veo 3, the new Flow filmmaking tool, Project Mariner agent, and 30 TB of storage, while existing AI Premium plans are rebranded to Google AI Pro.
Google just dropped a mega-tier subscription for power users, and it comes with a serious price tag.
The search giant officially introduced Google AI Ultra, priced at $249.99 per month in the U.S., with a 50% discount for the first three months. It is built as a VIP pass for filmmakers, coders, and researchers who are constantly hitting rate limits on standard plans.
Meanwhile, the existing AI Premium tier is being rebranded as Google AI Pro, gaining free access to new video features without a price hike.
Next-gen video models and 10-task agents
The marquee draw for Ultra is early access to Veo 3, Google’s latest video generation model, alongside the highest usage limits for Deep Research and Veo 2 inside Gemini.
Subscribers also get top-tier access to Flow, a dedicated AI filmmaking workspace that pairs Veo, Imagen, and Gemini for 1080p generation and cinematic camera controls. Whisk Animate, which animates static images into eight-second clips, also gets its caps maxed out.
On the workflow side, Google is rolling out early access to Gemini directly inside the Chrome browser to handle page-level context. Even more ambitious is Project Mariner, an agentic research prototype capable of juggling up to 10 tasks simultaneously, ranging from deep web research to handling bookings and purchases.
To soften the monthly blow, Google bundled in an individual YouTube Premium membership and a massive 30 TB of storage across Drive, Photos, and Gmail.
Why it matters
At $250 a month, Google is no longer just selling an AI assistant; it is pitching a full-stack creative and research workstation.
We think wrapping 30 TB of cloud storage and YouTube Premium into the bundle is a clever move to anchor an otherwise eye-watering price point. For boutique studios, indie filmmakers, or solo developers who already spend hundreds on fragmented cloud storage and generative video credits, this bundle could genuinely streamline their stack.
That said, the everyday user has almost no reason to touch this tier right now. The real test is whether tools like Project Mariner and Veo 3 can deliver production-grade consistency, or if users are simply paying enterprise prices for what still feels like beta software.
