Google brings Veo 3 video generation to the UK and Gemini mobile app

Published Reach 44

Google just launched its top-tier Google AI Ultra plan in the UK, bringing access to its Veo 3 video generator to 73 countries. Pro subscribers can now tap into Veo 3 straight from the Gemini mobile app with a 10-pack of trial video generations. To tackle deepfakes, Google is also stamping visible watermarks on all clips except those made by Ultra members inside Flow.

Google is officially putting its top-tier video generation model into users' pockets, expanding Veo 3 to mobile devices and launching its high-end subscription in the UK.

The search giant announced that Google AI Ultra is expanding to the United Kingdom, bringing the plan's availability to 73 countries. According to Google VP Josh Woodward, the team spent the past week scrambling to keep servers running after rolling out Veo 3 to 71 countries last Friday, as demand was way higher than anticipated.

Mobile access and tiered generation credits

The biggest day-to-day upgrade is where you can use it. Veo 3 is now accessible inside the Gemini mobile app on both Android and iOS for paid members, rather than being confined to desktop browsers.

Google is rolling out access based on subscription tiers. Ultra members get the highest access to the model, while Pro members receive limited access in Flow alongside a 10-pack of trial video generations inside the Gemini app.

Everyday users can generate clips straight from gemini.google or mobile, while AI filmmakers are pointed toward Google's dedicated Flow creative platform.

Watermarks everywhere, with one key exception

Along with the geographic and mobile expansion, Google is doubling down on provenance.

All AI-generated content from Google already carries invisible SynthID digital watermarking, and the company just rolled out its SynthID Detector to early testers last week. Starting today, Google is adding a visible watermark to all generated clips.

There is one deliberate loophole: videos produced by Ultra members inside the professional Flow filmmaking tool will remain free of visible watermarks.

Why it matters

Putting frontier video generation directly inside a mainstream mobile app changes how regular people interact with generative media. Instead of sitting behind complex web interfaces, generating a high-definition video is now as simple as firing off a prompt on your phone while commuting.

For creators and power users, the 10-generation trial for Pro subscribers is modest, but it acts as a clear conversion funnel toward the Ultra tier. If you need serious, watermark-free output for actual production work, you will have to pay up for the top plan.

We think Google's watermarking strategy is a smart compromise. Slapping visible watermarks across consumer outputs helps protect against viral deepfakes on social platforms, while exempting paying filmmakers on Flow keeps the tool genuinely usable for professional video production without ruining their final cuts.
