Anthropic launches Claude in Brazil
Anthropic just made Claude officially available across Brazil, giving users and developers direct access via web, mobile apps, and the API. Paid Pro plans run R$ 110 per month with full Claude 3.5 Sonnet access. Why it matters: Anthropic is speeding up global expansion to meet surging regional demand for frontier models.

Anthropic is expanding its footprint in Latin America, officially launching Claude in Brazil for both consumers and businesses.
Web, mobile, and API access
Starting today, users across Brazil can access Claude through the web at Claude.ai, via free iOS and Android mobile apps, or through the Anthropic API for custom integrations.
Alongside the free tier, Anthropic is rolling out local pricing. The individual Pro plan costs 110 Brazilian reais per month, unlocking five times more usage and full access to flagship models like Claude 3.5 Sonnet.
For businesses, the Team tier runs 165 reais per user monthly with a five-seat minimum, adding shared chats and central billing controls. The company also reiterated that it does not train models on customer data without explicit permission.
Why it matters
We think this is a major strategic expansion into Latin America's largest economy. Previously, Brazilian developers and power users had to jump through regional hoops just to access Claude's top-tier coding and reasoning skills.
Offering native currency billing and official API access makes Claude a realistic rival to OpenAI across the region. For local builders and startups, having direct access to Claude 3.5 Sonnet removes procurement friction and opens the door to building serious enterprise workflows without workarounds.
