OpenAI just turned ChatGPT on Mac into your meeting secretary
OpenAI just rolled out a new Meetings plugin in beta for the ChatGPT Mac app, letting Pro and Business subscribers capture notes hands-free. It pulls from your existing work history to organize personalized takeaways into ChatGPT Space and can instantly draft follow-ups or tweak project plans. Basically, third-party note-taking bots have serious competition right on the desktop.

An AI note-taker that knows your context
OpenAI just launched a beta version of its new Meetings plugin for the ChatGPT desktop app on macOS, rolling out to Pro and Business subscribers.
Instead of just transcribing audio, the plugin acts as a contextual assistant. It automatically captures meeting notes, pulls from what ChatGPT already knows about your work history, and saves personalized summaries and next steps directly into ChatGPT Space.
From there, notes can be kept private or shared across your team. You can also immediately ask ChatGPT to draft follow-up emails or update existing project plans. Mac users can try it today by searching for “Meetings” in the app's plugin directory.
Why it matters
AI note-takers are everywhere, but OpenAI has a distinct edge here: contextual memory.
Most standalone transcription tools treat every meeting like an isolated conversation. Because this plugin taps directly into your existing ChatGPT workspace and past work history, it actually understands what project you are discussing and what tone you need for the follow-up.
For paying ChatGPT users on Mac, this largely removes the need to pay for a separate third-party meeting assistant. That said, it is still locked to macOS and beta access, leaving Windows users and Enterprise teams waiting on the sidelines for now.
