Canva's decade-biggest redesign targets enterprise and AI graphics
Canva just unveiled its biggest platform redesign in ten years, transforming into an end-to-end workplace suite with Canva Enterprise and a new training tool called Courses. The platform also upgraded its Magic Studio AI suite with a Text to Graphic feature, allowing users to generate custom icons, stickers, and vector illustrations straight from text prompts.

For years, Canva was that friendly web app you opened to slap together a quick Instagram post, a resume, or a pitch deck without touching Photoshop. At Canva Create 2024 in Los Angeles, the company made it clear that those days are officially in the past.
Marking the end of its first decade and now boasting over 185 million monthly active users, Canva unveiled its biggest overhaul yet: a complete redesign built specifically for the workplace, backed by a heavyweight enterprise push.
A fresh workspace and an enterprise push
The most visible change is the core editor, receiving its first major redesign in ten years. The new workspace clears out interface clutter to maximize screen space, bundling frequent tools into a quick action bar for one-click shortcuts like background removal.
Canva is rolling this out with a playful twist. The new editing experience is initially limited to the first one million users who locate a hidden easter egg portal on their homepage, ahead of a wider rollout scheduled for August.
Beneath the surface, the headline release is Canva Enterprise. Tailored for large organizations, it brings centralized administrative controls, multi-team brand segmentation, enterprise-grade security including ISO, SCIM, and SSO, along with dedicated onboarding and training resources.
Canva is also pushing deeper into internal communications with Canva Courses. Instead of dumping static PDFs on new hires, teams can turn existing designs into interactive, trackable learning modules directly inside the platform.
Specialized toolkits and marketing automation
To bridge the gap across non-design departments, Canva launched four specialized Work Kits designed for Sales, Marketing, HR, and Creative teams. These packages offer curated templates for everything from sales proposals to onboarding decks, adaptable to company brand guidelines in a single click.
For marketing teams handling repetitive assets, a new Bulk Create feature lets users upload a CSV or Excel spreadsheet to generate hundreds of localized banners or personalized cards automatically.
Canva also integrated ad tech workflows directly into its canvas, linking with Google, Meta, and Amazon Ads so marketers can design, optimize, and push campaigns without leaving the app. Meanwhile, Canva Docs gained a long-awaited suggested editing mode alongside structural upgrades like multi-column layouts and visual blocks.
Why it matters
We think this is Canva's most ambitious strategic pivot to date. Instead of staying in its lane as an accessible creative tool, it is actively positioning itself as an all-in-one visual workplace, taking aim directly at Adobe Express, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace.
For knowledge workers who dread firing up complex design software, this makes visual production remarkably painless. Sales reps and HR managers can now generate on-brand collateral and interactive training materials without waiting on internal creative agencies.
However, cracking the enterprise market is a completely different beast than winning over millions of freemium consumers. While Canva checked the right security boxes with SSO and admin controls, convincing corporate IT departments to add another annual subscription on top of existing enterprise suites will require proving tangible time savings across entire organizations.
