Claude adds a built-in screenshot tool
Anthropic just added a screenshot button directly inside Claude, letting users grab any part of their screen and instantly attach it to a prompt. It removes the clunky step of saving and uploading images when asking the model to debug code or parse charts.

If you have ever used an AI chatbot to debug code or break down a dashboard, you know the friction: take a screenshot, save the file, drag it into the chat, and finally write your prompt.
Anthropic is cutting out the middle steps. Anthropic's Alex Albert just announced a tidy Friday drop: Claude now features a built-in screenshot button.
Snip and prompt in seconds
The new tool allows users to quickly grab images from anywhere on their screen and drop them straight into their prompt.
There is no need to save files locally or clutter your desktop with throwaway PNGs anymore. It turns what used to be a multi-step chore into a quick, seamless action right inside the interface.
Why it matters
We think quality-of-life updates like this often move the needle on real-world adoption faster than another benchmark point.
For users, screen grabs are easily the most common way people give visual context to vision models, whether diagnosing a bug or reviewing a layout. Removing the upload friction makes asking visual questions feel second nature.
As frontier models reach parity on core capabilities, workflow integration becomes the real battleground. Anthropic seems intent on turning Claude from a conversational website into a tool that actually fits your desktop routine.
