OpenAI just rolled out Ultrafast mode for GPT-5.6 Sol, a new API tier powered by Cerebras chips that outputs up to 750 tokens per second—making it roughly 14 times faster than standard processing. Instead of sacrificing intelligence for speed by dropping to tiny models, teams can now run frontier-class AI on real-time incident response and financial workflows. It is currently available in a limited preview.
