Surgeon performs heart bypass from home via compact robot console
SS Innovations just completed its first telesurgery using the compact SSi Mantra Tele Surgeon Console. The company's CEO remotely performed a robot-assisted coronary bypass from his New Delhi residence on a patient 185 miles away in Jaipur. Built as a self-contained chair, the system lets surgeons operate from a standard office without tying up an entire OR.
