DeepMind unites 33 labs to build an ImageNet moment for robots
Google DeepMind just partnered with 33 academic labs to launch Open X-Embodiment, pooling data across 22 robot types, alongside new RT-X models. Cross-embodiment training boosted task success rates by 50% on average and tripled emerging skills on RT-2-X. It marks a major push to train generalist robots on shared data, and both the dataset and RT-1-X weights are now public.
