AI Diagnoses Six Dementia-Linked Conditions From a Single Blood Draw
Researchers just published ProtAIDe-Dx in Nature Medicine, a deep joint-learning model that detects six dementia-linked conditions simultaneously using blood plasma proteomics. Trained on data from 17,187 individuals, the AI hit 70% to 95% balanced classification accuracy across all conditions while identifying complex co-pathologies. Why it matters: Clinical dementia misdiagnosis rates currently run between 25% and 50%, and a routine blood test could dramatically accelerate accurate, early intervention.
