Teaching world models to read human minds

Researchers from Oxford and NUS just introduced Mental World Modeling (MWM), a framework designed to simulate hidden human psychological states alongside physical reality. Existing world models only track object dynamics, missing why people act on beliefs, emotions, and intentions. Together with an inspectable baseline called MENTIS, the work pushes world models from simulating physical scenes to simulating the minds acting in them.

ShowUI-π teaches computer-use agents how to actually drag and drop

NUS researchers just built ShowUI-π, a lightweight 450M model that fixes a glaring flaw in GUI agents: smooth, continuous mouse dragging. Using flow matching, it lets agents draw, drag video timelines, and bypass rotation captchas on the fly—outperforming giants like Gemini-2.5 with a fraction of the parameters.
