MuSViT teaches AI to actually read sheet music
Researchers just introduced MuSViT, the first foundation vision model trained specifically on sheet music. Pre-trained on 9.7 million pages from IMSLP by reconstructing masked scores, it grasps musical syntax, pitch, and staff layouts, outperforming general vision encoders across score transcription and symbol detection.
