Microsoft drops its first in-house models
Microsoft just debuted its first homegrown models: MAI-Voice-1 and MAI-1-preview. The voice generator produces a full minute of expressive speech in under a second on a single GPU, while MAI-1-preview is an end-to-end mixture-of-experts foundation model trained on 15,000 H100 GPUs and now testing on LMArena. Microsoft is finally building its own muscle.
