Cognition drops SWE-1.7, its bargain coding powerhouse
Cognition just launched SWE-1.7, an in-house model purpose-built for its Devin software engineering agent. Trained on top of China's open-source Kimi K2.7 base, it approaches GPT-5.5 and Claude Opus benchmarks at a fraction of the compute cost. It is already live across Devin via Cerebras, serving inferences at a blazing 1,000 tokens per second.
