Scientists train AI to forecast over 1,000 diseases years in advance
Researchers just unveiled Delphi-2M, an AI model able to predict the rates of over 1,000 diseases years into the future based on patient history. Published in Nature, the transformer model treats sequences of medical diagnoses like grammar in text. It is not ready for clinical use yet due to dataset biases, but it marks an early step toward preventative medicine.
