    Qualcomm is buying Arduino to put AI chips in maker hands

    Qualcomm just announced an agreement to acquire open-source hardware pioneer Arduino for an undisclosed sum. Alongside the buyout, the two introduced the Arduino UNO Q, powered by Qualcomm's Dragonwing platform, plus a new App Lab development environment.     Qualcomm just unveiled Dragonwing, a dedicated brand targeting industrial IoT, networking, and enterprise infrastructure. The lineup includes the IQ series packing 100 INT8 TOPS for rugged environments and the Q series optimized for edge AI and Wi-Fi 7. Qualcomm is keeping Snapdragon for consumer gadgets while sending Dragonwing to challenge Nvidia and AMD in factories.
