DeepMind trains an army of AlphaZeros to beat itself
Google DeepMind just introduced AZdb, an ensemble system that groups uniquely trained AlphaZero agents into a collaborative league. By developing distinct styles and opening specializations, the multi-agent team solved twice as many tricky chess puzzles as a solo AlphaZero and gained 50 Elo points. Why it matters: Adding human-like strategic diversity helps superhuman models generalize far better when pure self-play reaches its limits.
