H&R Block just launched AI Tax Assist, a conversational helper built on OpenAI and Microsoft models to walk DIY filers through deductions and complex tax rules. It only pulls from H&R Block's vetted tax library rather than the open web, and while paid tiers start at $35, users can still escalate tricky questions to a live human expert.
