Plaud's new AI earbuds come with built-in 4G
Plaud just launched the Plaud One, a $249.99 pair of AI earbuds designed to record, transcribe, and summarize real-world conversations. Its charging case features built-in 4G connectivity to sync notes and trigger workflows in apps like Slack and Notion without needing your phone nearby. Preorders are live now in select markets, with shipping kicking off in Q4 2026.

Instead of trying to convince you to wear a strange lapel pin or a futuristic pendant, Plaud is bringing its meeting intelligence to a device you already wear every single day.
The company behind the popular card-sized voice recorder just launched the Plaud One Explorer Edition, a pair of AI earbuds priced at $249.99 that can record, transcribe, and summarize conversations.
Preorders are open today in selected markets. While initial materials pointed to late September, Plaud clarified that shipping is slated to begin in Q4 2026.
A recording studio inside an earbud case
At first glance, the Plaud One looks like a standard set of noise-canceling earbuds with force-sensor controls on the stems. But underneath, the specs are squarely aimed at capturing dialogue.
Each earbud carries 16MB of onboard storage for 32MB total, alongside three microphones capable of picking up voices up to two meters away. Battery life taps out at six hours, which also doubles as their maximum recording time on a single charge.
The real star might actually be the standalone charging case. Plaud loaded the case with four microphones extending the pickup range to five meters, an integrated speaker, 512MB of storage, and up to 36 hours of total USB-C battery life.
Even better, the case packs built-in 4G connectivity. That means it can automatically upload and process your meeting recordings to the cloud without needing a paired phone or nearby Wi-Fi network.
One button to organize your workday
For processing, the system relies on Plaud Intelligence to turn spoken conversations into structured transcripts and summaries.
There is also a dedicated physical AI button on the charging case designed to trigger Plaud Agent. According to the company, the agent features native integrations with Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, and Slack.
The idea is to eliminate the tedious manual copy-pasting that usually follows a meeting, pushing action items directly into your calendar or team channels.
Why it matters
AI hardware has spent the last year stumbling through weird form factors that nobody actually wanted to wear in public. Earbuds solve the social friction problem instantly.
Giving the charging case standalone 4G and five-meter microphones feels like a genuinely clever product move. If your ears get tired during a long conference, you can simply drop the case in the middle of the table and treat it like an autonomous conference recorder.
That said, at $249.99, Plaud is swimming directly into flagship audio territory. Buyers will expect great sound and active noise cancellation alongside the AI smarts, and it remains to be seen whether that built-in 4G connection will eventually require an ongoing cellular subscription.
Still, we think this is the clearest sign yet that the AI wearable market is finally growing up by upgrading tools we already use rather than inventing new gadgets from scratch.
