Pika teases precision video object manipulation
Pika just teased a new video manipulation tool that lets users modify specific characters or objects while leaving the rest of the frame completely intact. It solves one of AI video's biggest headaches—unwanted background warping—though access is currently limited to selected Creative Partners.

Editing a single movement in an AI video usually means re-rolling the entire clip and praying the background doesn't shift.
Pika Labs just teased a new manipulation tool behind the scenes on X. According to the team, the feature lets you manipulate any specific character or object inside a video while keeping the rest of the scene perfectly intact.
Fine-tuning without re-rolling
Direct control has been the missing piece in generative video. Pika's sneak peek shows that instead of regenerating the full frame, creators can target a single subject.
For now, the tool is strictly invite-only. Access is limited to users who join the Pika Creative Partner program for exclusive early testing.
Why it matters
If you have ever tried editing generative video, you know the frustration of losing a great background just to fix an awkward arm movement. Being able to isolate and manipulate specific subjects without breaking the environment turns AI video from a random slot machine into an actual post-production tool.
That said, it looks like early days. A brief sneak peek rarely shows edge cases like complex lighting or fast motion, so we will need to see real feedback from creative partners before judging whether the consistency actually holds up.
