Pika just launched its official iOS app, bringing its reality-bending AI video generation tools straight to the iPhone.
Video effects in your pocket
The company announced that mobile users can now download Pika directly from the Apple App Store. The goal is simple: put generative video tools right where creators capture, edit, and share their everyday content.
Users can now prompt and generate Pika's signature visual effects directly on their phones without having to sit behind a desktop browser.
Why it matters
AI video generation has spent much of its early days trapped in Discord servers and desktop dashboards, which created friction for casual social media creators. By moving natively to iOS, Pika makes mobile meme creation and casual video effects far more accessible.
In our view, the move signals a necessary shift for AI video platforms from raw model capability demos to mainstream consumer distribution. The real challenge, however, will be managing mobile user expectations around cloud generation queues, as mobile users are notoriously impatient with waiting for renders to finish.
