Oumi launches FAiE, an AI engineer that builds other AI agents
Oumi just launched an agent-building platform powered by FAiE, an AI engineer designed to handle everything from training to verification. Users can simply correct mistakes in chat, prompting FAiE to update datasets, retrain the model, and measure gains in roughly 15 minutes instead of months of engineering.
We are using AI agents to automate practically everything, except the painstaking process of building the agents themselves. Oumi found that backwards and launched an agent-building platform led by an AI engineer called FAiE.
Fixing agents through conversation
FAiE is designed to take over the entire pipeline, from initial agent training all the way to result verification.
The workflow relies entirely on chat. When an agent gets something wrong, you simply tell FAiE what the right answer should have been. FAiE then updates the training dataset, kicks off a retraining run, and measures whether performance actually improved.
Oumi claims this compresses what used to take months of specialized AI engineering into roughly 15 minutes of human interaction.
Why it matters
For non-technical domain experts, this bridges the gap between spotting errors and actually fixing models. Instead of filing tickets for an ML team, you teach the agent the way you would train a human intern.
Turning the AI engineer into an agent is a clever design move, but rapid chat-based fine-tuning always carries risks. The real test is whether FAiE's verification layer can catch regressions before a quick fix breaks other capabilities.
