Open Slide turns coding agents into React deck builders
Open-slide just launched an open-source presentation framework tailored specifically for AI coding agents. Instead of static HTML, tools like Claude Code and Cursor can now generate modular React slides on a 1080p canvas, complete with visual tweaks, inline comments, and PPTX export.

Open-slide is an open-source presentation framework built from the ground up for AI coding agents. Instead of spitting out fragile HTML or plain Markdown, it lets tools like Claude Code, Codex CLI, or Cursor write your pitch decks as modular React components.
Every slide renders inside a fixed 1920 × 1080 canvas. You describe the deck in your browser, and your agent codes it page by page while the preview updates with instant hot reload.
What it does
The framework bridges the gap between pure code generation and hands-on slide tweaking.
Hit the A key anywhere to pop open the agent panel right inside your browser. If a layout looks off, press C to select an element or drag across an area and drop a comment. These notes save directly into the source code as comment markers, allowing your agent to read and apply all adjustments in a single pass.
You also get a full visual editor for dragging, resizing, snapping to guides, and inline text editing when you just want to fix a typo yourself.
For technical presenters, open-slide bakes in the svgl library with more than 1,500 brand logos alongside Google Fonts. You will not have to hunt down vector logos for Cursor, Gemini, or Claude ever again.
When you are ready to present, it includes a dual-screen presenter view with speaker notes and timers. Exporting supports static HTML, PDF, and standard PPTX, with static builds ready to deploy on Cloudflare Pages, Vercel, or Netlify.
Getting started
The project is fully open source under the MIT license. You can spin up a deck in seconds by running npx @open-slide/cli init my-deck in your terminal.
It connects directly to your existing CLI logins for Claude Code or Codex, meaning you do not have to configure separate API keys. If you prefer staying in your terminal, its bundled commands work seamlessly across external agent workflows.
Why it matters
Most AI slide generators lock you into rigid templates or spit out messy markup that breaks the moment you touch it. Open-slide takes a much smarter route: it treats slides as production React code and taps into the coding agents developers already run all day.
If you build technical decks, engineering showcases, or product walkthroughs, this is one of the most practical tools you can test this week.
