Miso's ultra-emotive voice model speaks faster than you do

Published Reach 45

Miso just open-sourced Miso One, an 8B text-to-speech model claimed to be the most emotive voice model in the world. It nails human-like emotional delivery with a lightning-fast 110-millisecond latency—faster than human reaction time. The weights are publicly available now, with an API coming soon for real-time voice apps.

Miso One is an open-source, 8-billion-parameter text-to-speech model built specifically for expressive, human-like voice generation.

What it can do

Miso claims Miso One is the most emotive voice model in the world, capable of delivering speech with nuanced emotional depth rather than the flat tones typical of standard TTS systems.

Speed is the other standout feature. The model achieves an end-to-end latency of just 110 milliseconds, which responds faster than normal human reaction time. That makes it built from the ground up for low-latency, real-time voice conversations.

On the availability front, Miso has already open-sourced the model weights for self-hosting, and an official API is scheduled to roll out soon.

Why it matters

If you are building conversational voice agents, interactive gaming characters, or customer service bots, Miso One is worth a look. Most open-source speech models force you to choose between natural emotional delivery and low-latency throughput.

We think packaging an 8B expressive voice model with 110ms latency into an open-weights release gives developers a serious self-hosted alternative to proprietary voice platforms.
