AI art usually lives and dies in social media feeds, but Midjourney wants to give it a permanent spot on your coffee table.

The company just released "Year One," an official physical art book commemorating its creative community and platform milestones over the past twelve months.

A physical snapshot of V4 to V6

The book highlights memorable community images generated across the V4, V5, and V6 model eras. Crucially, it includes the actual text prompts used to create them.

Alongside the imagery, Year One documents the platform’s feature milestones and features profiles of key community creators. Midjourney pitched the volume as a physical artifact to document human creativity as generative models evolve.

The book offered free tracked shipping globally from Canada with a cap of four copies per buyer. It didn’t take long for demand to overwhelm supply: the store page is already marked out of stock.

Why it matters

While most AI labs are obsessing over enterprise contracts and raw benchmarks, Midjourney continues to behave more like a design studio with a cult following.

Printing digital prompts and pixels into a tangible book looks like a smart play to anchor creator loyalty. It turns ephemeral generations into historical artifacts, reinforcing Midjourney's unique aesthetic identity against competitors like Flux or DALL-E. The only hitch is physical logistics—selling out immediately leaves plenty of dedicated community members empty-handed.
