Mac users just got a much faster way to tap into Microsoft's AI assistant. On February 26, Microsoft officially rolled out Copilot to Mac computers.

One hotkey to summon, zero conversational friction

The biggest workflow upgrade here is sheer accessibility. Hit Option-Space anywhere on your desktop, and Copilot instantly pops up over whatever app you are running, ready for a typed question or an audio chat.

The home screen features Copilot Daily, turning global news roundups into bite-sized, podcast-style audio. Meanwhile, Copilot Voice lets you pick a preferred speaking tone and gracefully handles mid-sentence interruptions or self-corrections, keeping the back-and-forth feeling surprisingly natural.

Why it matters

For Mac power users, hotkey access removes the friction of juggling open browser tabs just to query an AI. It effectively turns Copilot from a destination site into an omnipresent desktop sidekick.

Microsoft is making a clear land grab on Apple's turf before native desktop Apple Intelligence experiences fully take over. While it remains a lightweight companion rather than a deep system orchestrator, the snappy shortcut summon and forgiving voice banter make it a genuinely useful desk tool to try right now.
