Bing Chat is getting DALL-E 3 and smarter shopping tools
Microsoft just announced that Bing Chat will soon integrate OpenAI’s DALL-E 3, letting users generate images directly inside conversations. Bing is also getting personalized shopping tools that remember past chats to tailor product recommendations and find discount codes. An exact rollout date for DALL-E 3 hasn't been shared yet.

You will soon be able to generate images directly inside your search box just by typing a couple of sentences.
Microsoft just announced that it will soon integrate OpenAI's new DALL-E 3 image generator directly into Bing Chat. While OpenAI plans to roll out DALL-E 3 to ChatGPT Enterprise users in October, Microsoft has not yet shared an exact launch date for the Bing rollout.
Smarter shopping and better memory
Alongside image generation, Microsoft rolled out new shopping capabilities for Bing.
Bing can now remember previous conversations to deliver more personalized answers. When you are looking for products, the chatbot can ask specific follow-up questions about how you plan to use an item, help you pinpoint the best match, and track down discount codes.
Why it matters
We think Microsoft's biggest advantage here is convenience and distribution. Instead of forcing casual users to master prompt engineering or pay for dedicated AI tools, putting DALL-E 3 right inside a free chat engine lowers the bar to zero.
It also shows how aggressively Microsoft is executing its OpenAI playbook: whatever frontier model OpenAI builds, Bing ships it immediately to challenge Google on everyday utilities like shopping and creative generation. The lingering question is release timing—until Microsoft gives an actual date, users will still have to wait to see how Bing throttles or serves the new visual model.
