Meta adds AI budgeting tools to prep for holiday shopping
Meta just rolled out automated budget scheduling and bid multipliers for its Advantage+ ad suite ahead of the holidays. Brands can now automatically bump up daily budgets during peak promotional spikes without rebuilding campaigns from scratch. It is also testing bid multipliers to automatically scale spend on high-priority audiences like Gen Z.

If you manage ad spend during the Q4 shopping rush, you know the drill: setting 2 a.m. alarms on Black Friday just to bump ad budgets, and praying you remember to scale them back before burning through cash on Cyber Tuesday.
Meta wants to take those manual headaches off your plate. The company just announced a pair of new AI-driven ad features—automated budget scheduling and bid multipliers—designed to prep advertisers for what it calls the first AI-powered holiday season.
Both features are landing inside Meta's Advantage+ marketing suite.
Hands-off budget spikes
Budget scheduling is the cleaner workflow update here. Instead of forcing marketers to build entirely new campaigns for peak shopping days or babysit daily spend adjustments, the tool lets you pre-schedule budget hikes ahead of high-traffic surges.
Once the holiday promotion ends, Meta automatically dials the daily budget back to normal. As Meta put it, there are "no other steps needed."
The feature is set to roll out early in Q4 for both standard manual campaigns and automated Advantage+ shopping campaigns.
Paying more for the right crowd
Meanwhile, Meta is also testing bid multipliers. This feature is geared toward targeting weights: marketers can tell the algorithm to automatically bid higher when an auction involves their highest-priority demographics.
Fashion group Tapestry—the parent company of brands like Coach—was an early tester. Looking to scale reach among Gen Z shoppers, Tapestry used bid multipliers to bump its bids for younger audiences automatically, which it says drove measurable performance gains where it mattered most.
Why it matters
For performance marketers, automated budget scheduling is a no-brainer quality-of-life upgrade. It removes the operational friction of seasonal promos and prevents expensive post-sale budget leaks, making it well worth enabling as soon as it drops in early Q4.
For Meta, this is another brick in its ad recovery wall. After taking heavy hits from Apple's privacy crackdowns and burning billions on metaverse bets, Meta's pitch is simple: Advantage+ automation works, and it can bring ad efficiency back.
We think this is a smart pivot in product philosophy. The knock on Advantage+ has always been that it acts like a black box with zero steering wheel. Bid multipliers give advertisers a way to guide the algorithm without breaking the machine. Just keep in mind that if your demographic assumptions are wrong, automated bid bumps will burn your ad spend even faster.
