Maket lets you generate custom 3D furniture with text prompts

Maket just rolled out Text to Furniture, a new tool that turns text prompts into 3D furniture models. You can describe specific pieces like an oval burl wood dining table, and it creates a scaled 3D model that drops right into your floor plan.

If you have ever tried planning a room layout, you know the frustration of searching through 3D asset libraries only to find generic pieces that never quite match your vision or exact dimensions.

Maket just rolled out Text to Furniture, a new tool that turns text descriptions into custom 3D furniture pieces. Instead of settling for catalog presets, you can simply type in what you want—like an oval burl wood dining table—and Maket generates a 3D model that already accounts for height, width, and depth.

Drop your prompt straight into the floor plan

The real trick here is that the generated piece is not stuck in an isolated viewer.

You can drop the new 3D model directly into your existing floor plan and inspect it from any 3D angle. That makes it easy to see how a custom piece fits against your walls, doorways, and surrounding furniture before committing to a design.

Why it matters

Most generative 3D tools still treat models as isolated novelties. We think Maket's real win here is spatial context: plugging the generated assets directly into a functional floor plan with real dimensions.

For interior designers and homeowners, this cuts down the friction of hunting for niche models or building custom assets from scratch during early design phases.

That said, it remains to be seen how detailed the textures actually look up close, and whether these generated items can easily bridge the gap to real-world sourcing.
