Krea AI's GPT Paint turns sketches into ChatGPT prompts

Published Reach 38

Krea AI just launched GPT Paint, a new feature inside Krea Image that lets users visually prompt ChatGPT. Instead of relying purely on text descriptions, creators can now guide the AI using edit marks, basic geometric shapes, notes, and reference images. Why it matters: It bridges the gap between rough sketches and prompt engineering, giving creators far more precise spatial control.

Describing layout and composition with plain text prompts has always been one of the clunkiest parts of AI image generation.

Krea AI just launched GPT Paint, a new feature that lets users visually prompt ChatGPT instead of relying entirely on typed descriptions.

Sketching the prompt instead of typing essays

The new capability is available directly inside Krea Image.

Instead of crafting complex text descriptions to explain where an object should go, users can now draw basic shapes, add edit marks, drop in reference images, and scribble quick notes on the canvas. ChatGPT takes these visual inputs and spatial cues to understand the creative intent.

Why it matters

For designers, creators, and concept artists, spatial relationships are painfully hard to translate into text prompts. Having a visual canvas that turns rough wireframes and quick annotations into actionable prompts removes a massive layer of friction in prompt engineering.

We think this is where generative creative tools are inevitably heading. Instead of treating the AI as an all-or-nothing text generator, moving toward a hybrid whiteboard workspace gives users real control over composition. The real test now is seeing how accurately the underlying model interprets messy sketches and spatial notes without hallucinating unwanted details.
