Jensen Huang heads back to the SIGGRAPH stage
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is returning to SIGGRAPH to deliver a live keynote on Aug. 8. He will showcase NVIDIA's latest generative AI breakthroughs and dive into OpenUSD developments following a new alliance with Apple, Pixar, and others. Watch out for what comes next in 3D graphics and visual computing.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is stepping back onto the SIGGRAPH stage next week, marking his first live keynote at the premier computer graphics conference since the generative AI wave took over the tech world.
Scheduled for Tuesday, August 8 at 8 a.m. PT in Los Angeles, Huang’s address will showcase NVIDIA's newest breakthroughs across award-winning research, OpenUSD developments, and next-gen AI tools tailored for digital creators.
Unifying the 3D world with OpenUSD
The timing of the keynote is no coincidence. Just last week, NVIDIA teamed up with heavyweights Pixar, Adobe, Apple, and Autodesk to launch the Alliance for OpenUSD.
Originally developed by Pixar, Universal Scene Description is an open-source framework designed to let 3D data move seamlessly between different creative platforms. The new alliance wants to standardize OpenUSD across industries, spanning everything from cinematic visual effects to massive industrial digital twins.
Beyond format standards, Huang plans to reflect on what has been a wild year for artificial intelligence. Breakthroughs like ChatGPT and Midjourney have set the stage, and Huang aims to demonstrate how developers worldwide are turning that initial buzz into serious production pipelines.
NVIDIA is also going all-in across the broader conference, presenting 20 technical papers covering immersive visualization, 3D interoperability, and AI-mediated video conferencing, alongside hands-on lab sessions for attendees.
Why it matters
For 3D artists, animators, and game developers, this is all about tearing down the walled gardens of content creation. If OpenUSD becomes the de facto standard backed by Apple and Adobe, moving complex assets across software packages will finally stop being a technical nightmare.
From an industry standpoint, we think NVIDIA is making a brilliant strategic play. Text and 2D image generators grab all the social media hype, but the true frontier of high-value AI lies in 3D worlds, robotics, and industrial simulation.
By helping steer OpenUSD alongside industry titans, NVIDIA isn't just promoting an open standard. It is ensuring that the foundation of the 3D internet runs natively on its Omniverse platform and high-end hardware.
The main friction point will be execution. Getting rivals to agree on deep technical specs usually takes years. But by placing OpenUSD front and center, NVIDIA is actively shaping the plumbing of the next computing era.
