Ideogram rolls out ultra-cheap P-Image models
Ideogram and Pruna AI just launched P-Image-Ideogram, a family of Pareto-optimal image generation models engineered for peak cost-efficiency. Starting at just $0.003 per image, the models support native 1K and 2K outputs across four quality tiers with 3 to 8 seconds of latency. Why it matters: High-fidelity image generation is quickly turning into an ultra-cheap utility, putting immediate pricing heat on rivals.

Ideogram has teamed up with Pruna AI to launch P-Image-Ideogram, a family of image generation models engineered for extreme efficiency. Pricing starts at just $0.003 per image.
Sub-cent generation with layout control
The model lineup comes with four quality tiers ranging from Very Low to High, outputting native 1K and 2K resolution images.
Latency sits comfortably between 3 and 8 seconds. Built with developers in mind, it natively supports JSON prompting and layout controls, making structured visual generation much easier to automate. On DesignArena's blind leaderboard, the family currently leads the charts for quality-versus-cost and quality-versus-speed trade-offs. The models are live right now via API, as well as on ComfyUI, Replicate, Cloudflare, and Leonardo AI.
Why it matters
For teams generating visuals at scale, slashing generation costs down to fractions of a cent changes the unit economics entirely. The addition of JSON-guided layout control makes it immediately practical for automated marketing and design pipelines where predictability matters.
We think Ideogram's move to partner with Pruna AI on Pareto-optimal efficiency rather than chasing peak artistic capability is remarkably smart. Proving that native 2K images can be served in 3 seconds for $0.003 puts serious pressure on competing image providers to rethink their pricing and latency floors.
