HubSpot launches new AI podcast for business leaders
HubSpot just teamed up with AI creators Matt Wolfe and Nathan Lands to launch The Next Wave, a weekly podcast breaking down practical AI strategies in 40 minutes or less. The debut episode features Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas discussing the future of search and open-source models. It is built to serve as an on-demand Chief AI Officer for growing companies.
Every business leader wants a Chief AI Officer right now, but good luck finding one who actually understands both enterprise workflows and the latest models.
HubSpot found a clever shortcut. On April 10, 2024, the HubSpot Media Network teamed up with AI creators Matt Wolfe and Nathan Lands to launch The Next Wave, a new podcast and YouTube series explicitly designed to act as an on-demand CAIO for growing companies.
An on-demand CAIO in 40 minutes
The show is built specifically to cut through the overwhelming daily AI hype.
New episodes drop every Tuesday morning, with each installment capped at 40 minutes or less. Instead of debating theoretical futures, the hosts focus on practical hurdles, actionable business growth strategies, and real implementation stories.
Both hosts are seasoned veterans in the space. Wolfe is best known for curating the popular AI directory FutureTools.io and previously co-hosting The Hustle & Flowchart Podcast. Lands founded the AI holding company Lore and previously co-founded tech ventures like GameStreamer, which raised $10 million.
According to Lands, AI is no longer a buzzword, and the goal of the show is simply to help operators navigate the terrain without getting bogged down in jargon.
Episode one: Perplexity takes on search
The premiere episode went straight to one of the biggest battlegrounds in tech: the future of web search.
Wolfe and Lands sat down with Aravind Srinivas, co-founder and CEO of conversational search engine Perplexity. The trio dug into how AI answers are fundamentally rewriting the economics of web search and what that disruption means for digital content creators.
They also debated the practical tradeoffs between deploying open-source versus closed-source AI models in business environments. The episode is available across major podcast apps and YouTube.
Why it matters
For startup founders and busy operators, keeping up with AI is a full-time job they simply do not have hours for.
Packaging tactical advice into a weekly 40-minute commute listen gives executives a low-friction way to stay informed without doomscrolling social feeds or reading academic papers.
For HubSpot, partnering with trusted independent creators is a smart media playbook. Instead of producing corporate fluff, HubSpot aligns its media network with established voices who already have an ear to the ground, reinforcing HubSpot's presence in the AI software conversation.
That said, a podcast can only take you so far. While it helps leaders understand what is possible, turning weekly conversations into actual ROI still requires companies to do the messy internal work of workflow redesign and system integration.
