HeyGen's new tool turns product photos into UGC ads

Published Reach 38

HeyGen just launched Product Placement, a new feature that turns a product photo, a chosen avatar, and a script into a ready-to-run UGC video ad. Powered by Avatar IV for realistic gestures and lip-syncing, it eliminates the need for actors, studios, or video editing—and is now live for all users.

Creating UGC-style product ads usually means shipping samples, hiring creators, and waiting days for edits that might still flop.

HeyGen just rolled out Product Placement, a new feature now live for all users across the platform.

Product photo in, UGC ad out

The workflow is about as simple as it gets: upload a photo of your product, pick an avatar, paste in your script, and let the system spit out a scroll-stopping video.

According to HeyGen, the tool is powered by its Avatar IV engine, delivering realistic hand gestures and precise lip-syncing without requiring physical studios, actors, or post-production work.

Why it matters

For e-commerce brands and solo marketers, this cuts the creative iteration cycle down to minutes. Instead of waiting weeks for creator turnarounds, sellers can generate dozens of ad variations from a single product image to test what actually converts.

We think this is a smart pivot from novelty AI avatars to practical, high-ROI ad production. That said, generating realistic physical interactions from a flat photo is notoriously tricky. If the hands or lighting look slightly off, viewers will instantly scroll past, meaning output quality will make or break this feature.
